Privacy policy

How the Auvimo apps and this website handle data, and the choices you have.

Content updated: October 20, 2026

Local use, without an account

The app requires no account and includes no advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs. Videos, subtitles and viewing history are not uploaded to the developer.

This website has no accounts, media uploads or analytics scripts.

Files, library and history

The app reads files you select and stores progress, file permissions and local records. Directly opened Mac files remain read-only; imports into the direct Mac library and mobile edition create app-managed copies. Deleting library media removes those copies, not the external originals.

Successful network playback may save the full address, including required query parameters, and on-demand playback progress locally. Download tasks also retain links and recovery information. You can remove history and task records in their respective interfaces; removing records does not delete media.

Network playback and website downloads

When you play network media or parse and download public videos, the app connects to content providers and referenced servers. They receive your IP address, requested URL and standard request information, under their own privacy policies. HTTP connections are not encrypted.

Website downloads are processed on your Mac, without a developer-operated media proxy. The app does not import browser cookies or sign-in credentials.

BitTorrent networks

Torrent and magnet tasks may contact trackers, DHT and peers, exchange task information and content pieces, and upload pieces. Your IP address is visible to connected peers. Pause, cancel and upload limits let you control this activity.

App updates

Starting with 1.0.1, the direct Mac edition checks for updates automatically by default. Existing preferences are preserved, and you can turn automatic checks off in the app menu. Automatic or manual checks contact the update service; its host receives standard request information such as your IP address. Downloads and installation require confirmation, and system-profile reporting is not enabled. Apple handles installation and updates for store editions.

Mobile and private space

Importing from Files or Photos requires you to select content. Wi-Fi transfer offers local-network receiving while the transfer page is open, using the displayed verification code. Videos go to your device, without passing through developer servers.

Private-space videos are encrypted locally. You manage the password, recovery code and encrypted backups; the developer offers no cloud decryption or recovery. Private videos do not appear in ordinary viewing history or thumbnails and do not use PiP.

PiP, clipboard and diagnostics

Mac PiP processes media and subtitles locally. Clipboard access follows explicit actions such as paste or copy.

App diagnostics remain local. Apple may process diagnostics according to your system settings. Support emails, screenshots and logs you choose to send are used to address your feedback; remove unnecessary personal data first. Email providers also process messages under their own policies.

Website requests

To deliver pages and maintain service security, the website host may process IP addresses, request times and paths, browser details and other access logs. We have not added analytics or advertising trackers to the site.

Access logging and retention depend on the hosting service. External downloads and App Store links are subject to the destination service’s privacy policy.
